From Yosemite to Bishop

After a very fun experience in the valley we decided to leave rather early on Monday morning and check out the bouldering in Bishop. Star had a class that was starting the next morning so we did not have much time to boulder in the Buttermilks. After a fantastic lunch in Mammoth we arrived to surprisingly nice conditions. The temps were in the low 80’s in the sun and 70’s in the shade. The wind was blowing and there were partly cloudy skies that made it feel quite crisp. We parked and climbed at the main area and bumped into a couple from Switzerland. This was our first time to the Buttermilks and thankfully Roland and Claudia had the guidebook.

We climbed in the roadside area and played on some easier problems. It was a rest day for Star and I so we only climbed a easier problems. I have to say that walking around the Buttermilks and climbing a little makes me want to go back soon. Star and I are planning to go back next year hopefully, maybe for my birthday. I am in love with the Buttermilks. What a gem this area is. The granite is wonderful and the water grooved features are sick. I mean, do not go there it sucks.

I hope you enjoy a few of the photos that I was able to take. We were not there very long but I tried to shoot the whole time I was not climbing. And remember….
