Fuji Spring Skiing

Last week my wife and I joined some very good friends of ours up Mt. Fuji for some spring skiing.  What an experience.  The hike up is not tough technically but rather tough endurance wise.  Especially the route Jack decided to take, straight up a snow field!

We camped at one of the parking areas in route to Fuji San the night before, woke up at about 430am, ate breaky and started the trek up.  The weather was quite intermittent throughout the day with beautiful blue skies then thick misty clouds.  After about four hours of hiking, we ate some ramen sheltered by a snowed in hut, took in the view and shredded down.  The snow right now is not great but fun for what it is.

Anyone who has a chance to ski Fuji San really should jump at the opportunity.  What a great day!
