Another MK Convert

One of my favorite things to do is to show folks how great Mountain Khakis are.  Here in Japan it is not always easy to segway into a conversation about why MKs are more bad ass than other clothing brands because of the language disparity.

In months past my buddy Jensen has not had a favorite pant, maybe his 5.11 technical pants would be his go to for climbing outside, but I am only guessing.  But recently he bought a pair of MK Alpine Utility pants and needless to say he is a goner.  Last week when there was finally a break in the weather long enough we headed up to Mizugaki for some bouldering.  Jensen wore his new AUP and I wore my newish Equatorial pants.  I love my Equatorial, previous post for review, and by the look of it Jensen will not be wearing anything but MKs for the near future.  He is another convert to MK’s and with good reason.  Mountain Khakis makes great products.  After the day of cleaning and sending new lines we decided to call it a day and finish the climbing day right, with a large bowl of ramen before heading home!  I will surely miss the delicious ramen shops here in Japan when we move next year.

The weather here in Japan has been TERRIBLE!  But today the weather is starting to look nice and it is also the start of Golden Week here.  Golden week is a week long celebration which usually means mass exodus from Tokyo to the mountains.  I usually stay close to home this week, but it looks like I will be meeting up with a big group for bouldering and camping.  I have been sick the past couple of days, but I hope that the weather holds up and I feel good enough for a bit of boulder wrestling!
